The Insolvency Department at Harris + Harris was contacted by the parents of the Bankrupt who wished to avoid the sale of the family home. Negotiations were undertaken with the Creditors and the Trustee in Bankruptcy to agree the amount of the debts & costs. These were then settled from family assets, saving additional costs & fees. Once this was done an application was made to the Court for an Annulment of the Bankruptcy Order so that the family home was saved.

David Holmes, who was responsible for the negotiations on behalf of the family said, "By using our professional skill and knowledge of the insolvency procedures we were able to substantially reduce the amount which had to be paid to discharge the debts, costs and expenses. We were also able to save the family home and obtain a Court Order annulling the original Bankruptcy Order" .
