In 2004 Harris + Harris were awarded Lexcel, the Law Society's Quality Mark. Only an elite 4.6% of firms in the country has the prestigious award, which demonstrates a commitment to going beyond the average practice. Assessment covers 55 areas such a client care, file management, staff supervision & development, planning, risk management, disaster recovery, and financial management. Harris + Harris has also been awarded the Legal Services Commission Quality Mark.
The Law Society's Chief Executive, Janet Paraskeva, said: "To achieve the Lexcel Quality Mark, practices are independently assessed on their systems and procedures to ensure they meet strict practice management standards. Legal practices that have achieved the Lexcel Quality mark will be able to demonstrate to clients they can deliver excellent customer service".
Harris + Harris Quality Management Partner, Neil Howlett, said, "I am pleased that our high standards of management and our commitment to client care have been recognised. This is good news for our clients and a credit to all our staff. It isn't just a certificate, it shows what we are actually doing".
The Lexcel award does not extend to Harris & Harris's office in France as it is not available to offices outside England and Wales .
