All new property titles are now registered on computer at HM Land Registry. "Title Deeds" are no longer issued to Owners or Lenders. However, there are still documents that you will be required to produce when you sell, such as Guarantees, Planning Permissions, Building Regulations Consents, etc. If they are not available a sale may be delayed and lost, and costs increased.

Many Banks and Building Societies will no longer keep any documents for you, and those that do will make a charge for producing them.
