Wills, Probate, Trusts & LPAs

Some things in life are unavoidable.  Harris & Harris can make some of them less difficult.  We aim to help you make the right decisions, at the right time.  Experienced solicitors in Wells and Frome can make sure your Will has the effect you intend, and that Inheritance Tax is minimised.  We can administer Estates or help Executors obtain Probate themselves.

At Harris & Harris we have many years of experience in administering Trusts and advising Trustees.  We also offer legal advice and assistance in other related areas of the law concerning mental incapacity, the Court of Protection, Powers of Attorney and Advance Decisions (Living Wills).  Let us help give you peace of mind.  Professional advice may not be as expensive as you think.  We will store your Will for free.

Our senior Solicitors are full members or affiliates of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), the leading international multi-disciplinary professional group.  STEP members help families plan for their futures, from drafting a simple Will to complex issues surrounding international families, protection of the vulnerable, and family businesses.  Our Solicitors who are involved in the preparation of Wills adhere to the STEP Code for Preparation of Wills, a copy of which can be inspected here: Will-Writing-Code-2014

Full members of STEP are known as “TEPs” (short for “Trust and Estate Practitioner”).  Annemarie Swainson and Joshua Eva are both TEPs.  To find out more about TEPs and why you should speak to one, click on the following link:

We were also one of the first firms of solicitors in the country to be awarded the Law Society Wills & Inheritance Quality mark (“WIQS”).  WIQS is only open to law firms or other organisations that are authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.  In achieving accreditation Harris & Harris underwent a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate our adoption of best practice procedures in delivering Wills and Probate advice. As continuing WIQS members our lawyers adhere to the WIQS Client Charter and undertake continuing specialist training.

Caroline Fletcher is a fully accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE), the independent, national organisation of lawyers, who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers. Joshua Eva is also an associate member.
