Christopher Jones

Christopher Jones leads our Ecclesiastical Law Team.  He joined Harris & Harris in 2000, before qualifying as a solicitor in 2002, and becoming a partner in 2013.

Christopher has been appointed personally as Diocesan Registrar and Legal Secretary to the Bishop of Bath and Wells, and continues to advise a number of churches and charities in a broad range of property matters.

His property practice encompasses freehold and leasehold property transactions involving church and churchyards, cathedral premises, functional property, clergy housing, agricultural and development land, school sites and academy premises, reverter of sites, mortgage finance, and chancel repair liability and related matters.

He is a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society, the Ecclesiastical Law Association, and the Devon and Somerset Law Society.

Since 2007, Christopher has collaborated with the Centre of Law and Religion at Cardiff University, teaching the Church Property Seminar as part of the LLM Course in Canon Law.

Christopher is also the MLRO for Harris & Harris as well as being responsible for marketing.
